Start in the Hanseatic port of Bergen before delving into the country’s picturesque villages, magnificent waterfalls and breathtaking mountains and glaciers. After breakfast, the morning is at your leisure. Please be in the hotel’s reception area between 2:00–2:30 pm to meet your tour escort and receive important information about this wonderful tour. At 3:00 pm depart with your local guide for a 3-hour sightseeing tour. The beautiful city of Bergen was founded in the year 1066 and until 1830 was the country’s largest town as well as an important centre for commerce and shipping. Included is a pleasant walk through the Hanseatic Bryggen quarter; with its characteristic buildings, pointed gables facing the harbour, St. Mary’s Church and the Fish and Flower markets - for specialties from northern Scandinavia like salmon and king crab. You will also see Haakon’s Hall before ending the tour at the hotel. Evening is on your own.

Bergen – Flam – Balestrand

Savor another traditional breakfast at your hotel before a morning departure to the historic town of Voss and its stunning background of snow clad mountains. Here you board a train which takes you across the mountain plateau to Myrdal for the World famous Flam railway - sure to be the highlight of the day! This experience is one of the most spectacular rail journeys, descending down from the mountain station of Myrdal to the quaint fjord village of Flam. Enjoy some free time before embarking on the afternoon ferry for a breathtaking cruise along the lovely Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in Norway. The coast offers very strong contrasts; with dramatically falling rocks in the fjords alongside a river that turns a wonderful shade of blue green. Arrive in Balestrand late afternoon, located on the edge of this stunning fjord, to savor a fabulous dinner!

Balestrand – Briksdal Glacier – Loen

Breakfast at the hotel before the coach departs to Dragsvik and continuing on to Hella. You then meander via Sogndal, through several picturesque villages and forests until the arrival in Skei, located at the foot of Europe’s biggest mainland glacier named “Jostedalsbreen”. After a short break you venture further to Loen to explore the Briksdal Glacier by small motorized Troll cars. The journey is to the very snout of the glacier to experience the breathtaking blue ice. Return to Loen and for a late afternoon arrival at the hotel. Here we will spend two nights in the wonderful surroundings of the extraordinary mountains and fjords.

Loen – Geiranger – Loen

After breakfast a morning departure by coach, via Hellasylt for the ferry crossing over the dramatic and impressive, UNESCO’s World Heritage listed, Geiranger Fjord- situated among lush mountains and beautiful waterfalls. You disembark in the village of Geiranger with time to explore this beautiful unspoiled landscape. Lunch is included at the stunning 4th generation Union Hotel. Enjoy a 3 course lunch with incredible views of the fjord. After lunch board the coach and travel up to Dalsnibba for a dramatic view of Geiranger. This is one of most fantastic views in the world, at 1,500 metres above sea level. Return to Loen to relish in yet another fantastic dinner at your hotel.

Loen – Oslo

Rise for an early morning departure by coach to the capital of Norway, Oslo. You travel via Lom, to admire the oldest wooden Stave church in Norway, which dates back to the 12th Century. Continuing on your journey via Otta you leave the fjords area characterized by beautiful mountains and lakes for a late day arrival in the bustling city of Oslo.

Awake for breakfast before meeting our local guide for a 3-hour sightseeing tour of this Norwegian capital, beautifully situated amidst a fjord. Enjoy a magnificent view of the Oslo Fjord from Holmenkollen, the site of many famous ski jumps that hosted the Olympic Games in 1952. Among other highlights, a visit to the Viking Ship Museum, with its three Viking vessels and Vigeland’s Park, one of the major Scandinavian cultural treasures from Gustav Vigeland who dedicated his life to his artistic works. You pass by the Royal Palace and the main pedestrian street, Karl Johan as well. The tour ends at the hotel so you can further explore this fantastic Viking capital on your own.
