Reykjavik or Copenhagen - Kangerlussuaq
After breakfast depart for your flight to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland's main gateway. A transfer will be waiting for you to embark via the Ms. Frams shuttle boats- PolarCirkel. We do suggest you bring a waterproof jacket/pants and mosquito repellent for this tranfser!
Qeqertarsuaq
This town is the only city on the volcanic island of Disko. Here you will be transferred by PolarCirkel to experience the wonderful surroundings at the base of the Basalt mountains. A visit with your Expedition team will be made to the Arctic Station as well as lunch at a local cafe.
Uummannaq - Ukkusissat
Today's journey starts at the foot of a heart shaped mountain in the town of Uummannaq, known for it's hailbut processing factory. Transfer by PolarCirkel to the town for a visit to the magnificent church and old turf house. During the evening a stop will be made by boat to Ukkusissat, Greenlandic for soapstone. The team will discuss the mining of this stone by Inuit craftsman.
Eqip Sermia
Rise for an incredible up close view of the Eqip Sermia glacier. Transfer by boat ashore for galcier views and a BBQ dinner. If you want the challenge, hikes are available.
Ilulissat
Enjoy Greenland's third largest town, Ilulissat, Greenlandic for icebergs. Added to UNESCO'S World Heritage list in 2004 because of the enormous iceberg's running aground just outside of town
Sisimuit
After docking in Greenland's second largest town, Sisimuit, a kayak demonstration awaits. This will include old hunting techniques alongside the ship. Optional excursions are available for those in physcially good condition. This excursion will focus on the old town and harbor.
Evighedsfjorden
Today's sail into this beautiful fjord surrounded by amazing mountains and glaciers will not disappoint. If the weather permits, an incredible PolarCirkel cruise along the front of the glacier and ashore for a hike
Kangerlussuaq
Head back to Kangerlussuaq, at the end of the Kangerlussuaq fjord, to see one of the best places to observe native wildlife including musk oxen. Today will include a bus tour to the ice cap. End the day with a flight back to Reykjavik or Copenhagen
